Hey gbatemp.

my question is.
Is it possible to use a external HDD enclosure with a internal HDD (with the internal HDD formatted to FAT32) To run XBLA And XBOX Games (Mainly GOD Format)

The Hard Drive i was looking at would be :

Seagate 3.5" Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001 SATA3 7200rpm 64MB Cache Hard Disk

and the external Enclosure:

VANTEC NexStar3 BLACK 3.5inch IDE USB 2.0 MODEL

attatched are some images:

Much thanks everyone.

Edit: Using FSD 2.2 (Default Dash),Reset Glitch Hack 2.0,MS Dash 14619 (Optional Dash),SMB & Crossover cable to transfer games to internal HDD ATM.

WESTERN DIGITAL MY BOOK ESSENTIAL HARD DRIVE 2TB

Seagate GoFlex 3.5" 2TB External USB3.0 HDD

What do u recommend is the best way to go out of these 3? .. i would do internal but 2tb 2.5" internal drives are just too expensive plus ide like to have a portable HDD. thanks heaps in advance! :)

The 360's design is from 2005.
USB 3.0 isn't really standard today so..
No,USB 3.0 doesn't work (at least doesn't utilize it's full potential)

You don't have to get a 2 TB drive.
I got 500 GB in mine.
Tossed a few games on it + 100 GB of XBLA and some other stuff and I still have ~250 GB of free space.

.xex extracts take up way less space then ISO/GOD images.
Only drawback is that their only executable from the FSD dash.

I'd go with the internal method but since it's not my 360 I can not decide for you ;p

If you really want an external HDD then the USB 2.0 one is the best.
Note that FAT32 has a max file size limit of 4 GB!

Just wait for a good sale on portable drives and remove them to put on your 360. I got a 750gb for like 70.
You can always check what GODs size will be as well as XBLA games and come to a number of how much space you will use.
USB 3.0 devices work with USB 2.0 ports but as said above the 360 only has 2.0 ports.

I made an adapter that allows me to use an e-sata external 2TB HDD as an internal for my old phat Jtag.

Then I changed it into a switch for my dual NAND slim.
