Hiya, my PSP slim is very cracked, I know it's covered under my warranty, I did install CFW though (I know that voids it) and later went to exchange it at the EB Games I bought it from, I ALMOST got a new one when AFTER I WAS WALKING OUT, the salesman shouted out to me to come back, pointed at the CFW version and voided the exchange, now, if I update the FW to 3.72 official it would appear that the warranty is intact, would I be able to exchange it a different EB or would it show up that it was voided? Thanks!

I think you'd succeed, try it

Good, I'll wait for more opinions though, I don't want to end up in hot water because I rushed.

He was like, "Hey! Have you done something to the firmware!? Are you trying to pirate stuff!?" I replied calmly with "No, I am trying to play homebrew." He said "Don't lie to me! I'm voiding this exchange." I would've got away but a second guy turned up and was checking that it all worked when he found the firmware and showed the guy serving me. Now then, what should I say so that I can easily exchange it at this other EB? I mean, what can I say if he asks why I'm not exchanging at the one I bought it from? Thanks!

Wow that sucks..

I'm surprised he even knew what CFW was... He probably owns a CFW PSP..

It'll probably work if you use Official FW and exchange it at another EB.

Good luck!

You shouldn't have any trouble by going to another store. Just say you are visiting a friend near here and that it's much easier to come here than take a detour and go to the ebgames that you bought it from.

just start firmware update 3.72 by going to the network update icon, then your psp is restored to official firmware, and they will never know you have used CFW

I'm not sure about the newest M33 firmware, but the network icon did not work on the older CFW. DA disabled to prevent stupid people from screwing up their PSPs.
