the alternative is use the GTS, but your kadabra up on offer (asking for either something ridiculous, like a lvl 9 and under giratina or something or another kadabra, leave it for 24 hours and get it back.
that way, if it gets traded, you either have a giratina (if using example exactly) or an alakazam anyway (maybe even higher lvl)
not too sure if it still works, pretty sure it did in diamond and pearl
