I think pack size is not a problem, because I used SimonVideoGames25's HD Texture Pack (Enter The Matrix) which is under 30GB
I used 60 FPS patch and settings like you but no result
I'm not comparing your pack with other authors, I'm just talking about the problem I'm having. Please don't misunderstand me.
What part of the game are you having issues with or is it any level that you play.
If you have used texture packs that are say 30GB that's not necessarily the point. As it could still be smaller files, but the game itself could have loads of files.
For example when I was going to try Legacy of Kain Defiance, it has absolutely loads of the same textures then also including mips of each texture.
After only playing halfway through the first level, after retexturing those textures, the file size was over 12GB - just for half of the first level, which kind of made me think maybe its not going to be a good idea to carry on, because at this rate the texture pack is going to be absolutely massive.
Though it was looking miles better, I dont think anyone is going to want to download a texture pack that could end near 100GB+.
So basically what I am trying to say is that yes you could have used a 30GB texture pack, but it could consist of individual textures that are smaller in size.
Whereas my individual textures are likely larger in size, some can be over 60MB because I aimed to try add more detail to the texture.
Like I mentioned, rather than taking the base texture and simply clicking scale then taking the default width/height and multiplying it by 2 or more.
Then applying filters to try smoothen the pixels and possibly other filters.
Which i mean no offence to those doing texture packs and this method, its their dedicated time that matters, but I am not doing this.
Yes I am using the base texture as reference and using it, but I am adding as much more detail to them to try make them look better.
So the issue could be that your system is struggling to handle the overall file size of my larger texture files.
That is if you are definitely using the settings mention above because firstly you stated your using different setting for your EE CYCLE etc. Which this is not recommended as it can actually cause slow down issues.
Other than that I cant really suggest anything other than it does play perfectly fine and I am using a handheld gaming pc, the ONEXAPLYER 2 PRO, this not only plays it fine, I even used it to create this texture pack.
As I have just started doing PS2 texture packs I know there could be tricks and whatnot that I could learn to improve, but this will come eventually as I continue with future packs.
I could possibly look at making texture packs where they offer 2 versions, one for lets say medium end systems and one for higher end systems.
But as I am personally paying to host my texture packs so that the links will never expire, be deleted or go down, users will always get dedicated bandwidth to download.
Making multiple packs per game is going to definitely increase the overall size of each texture pack I do.
This will then cost me more or limit how many games I can host for users which is free for them to download, no subscriptions to gain faster speeds and then forced slow speeds as a free user, DEFINITELY no BULLSHIT scam, fraud adverts, popups or download links.
But I will make a note to think of how much detail I plan on putting into my textures and their individual file size.
But I personally don't see the point in making a texture pack that barely looks any different to the default texture.
