wow... that was a rant on one of the dumbest subjects ever...

In the gaming universe, "retro" generally refers to pre-mid-90's video games, sometimes referring all the way up to the N64 and PS1, depending to which generation of gamers uses the term. I'm part of the generation that believes games from BEFORE the N64/PS1 era are "retro", whereas younger generations may consider them "retro".

So really, it's one of those words that differ between generations and cultures. One example I can think of is "Google". To older generations, "Google" is just the name of a company. To my generation, and younger ones, "Google" can be a verb referring to searching the Internet for information.

So, as taken from that article:

retro (adjective)

imitative of a style, fashion, or design from the recent past: e.g. retro 60s fashions.

So then us, according to that definition, using a design (box art) from the recent past (the 80's or 90's) for our current fashion (our 2010 avatars) is, in fact the epitome of retro.

Nice attempt at a troll, but the bridge is thatta way.

Damn... and i used my "lawyer'd" joke earlier. It woulda fit SO much better here!

Huh, you're right... I was considering this from the gaming standpoint, not from what we're doing, which is technically a fashion thing...

wow, are we having a somewhat-philosophical debate over what's "retro"?

Nope, i just have a troll-slaying knife. It has a +6 against trolls.

And it's always fun to prove someone utterly incorrect by their own logic.

As i mod, i have the ability to remove a troll post. As a somewhat intelligent person, i have the ability to make em look all fool. I prefer the latter.

Good choice on the game, and a special appreciation for setting proper proportions to the avy.

Both post were referring to something completely different. One was for my attempts to find myself a retro neko avatar, the other was a fallow up conforming I couldn't find anything so I gave up on finding one.
EDIT: Worded that way they may seem like the same thing, Just one was about cat boys, the other is about Yoshi's Island
