Hey guys,

So, I've been dealing with lots of trouble with my Switch not recognizing my eMMC NAND at all, despite multiple tries and diagnostics. There is a somewhat-lengthy tread that has all the symptoms and whatnot. Anyway, since I believe everyone who's trying to help me reached a full stop where actual physical contact with the device would be needed, I don't want to bore anyone else with the trouble.

I do have one final question, though.

Supposing my eMMC is indeed dead, is it normal that the console boots into RCM everytime? I've tried to turn AutoRCM off on Hekate, but it keeps telling me 'Failed to init eMMC.'. So I am guessing the RCM is standard for when the NAND can't be read? I would just like some confirmation.

I have ordered the Switch eMMC from Aliexpress and will try to restore the NAND onto it by using the backup I have, so there shouldn't be any troubles of different encryption and stuff - I guess.

Thanks once again for your time. In case you feel like you have something to add about the problem by itself, I'd politely ask you to look for my topic on pg 2 of this same forum.

AutoRCM writes to boot0 so if it's failing to read/save that, corrupt or missing nand. Likely a failsafe at this point

Like i mentioned in your other thread,
the emmc needs spoofing/patching. The chip has a ID,

and you can possibly be detected, Infact sure you need to patch Prodinfo also... (maybe im wrong someone check ?)
you need to patch fskip, i believe ctcear Told me a long time ago when i was going to make a special module....

Best or safer, get a chip same as yours same make model, there's more then one type model/make of switch EMMC chip... but still would need patching spoofing.. (If you dont this can get your switch banned, so upto you.)

RCM

rcm is recovery mode, console will always rcm if nand corrupt, (like autorcm which corrupts ya boot0/1 files)
or module not installed..

RCM is a default recovery for the tegra chip..

I still think hardware fault,like @mattytrog and i thought,

I suggest you speak to Ctcaer, and talk to him about spoofing the new module,

If only this was released it could help you > EYECANDY >Shop
There are other options to read the nand, Like matty said to you before you maybe missing 3v /Clk
Nand module reading > Click

I see. So fulltime RCM is normal. Thanks for the confirmation.

And Canna, thanks once again for your input. I have ordered the new eMMC and will give it a try. It will take around a month to arrive, but I will let everyone know the results.

And thanks for the links, I am going to take this waiting time to learn more about it.

Oh and by the way, I have already been banned, so I am okay with nintendo detecting it. I mean, they have already detected a lot of other bad stuff :P

I have the same problem with you.
At this point, my only option is to buy an emmc module and try to make it work with my switch, or wait for someone to finally implement emunand and try to boot from SD.

Booting to lakka that resides in the microsd is not a problem at all.

Ok well then it should be a straight swap with same chip make model...Not sure about other brand,model... think thers 2-3 different switch nand chips...

Anyway, the first process you need to do is this...

Run gptrestore payload,To restore the structure of nand.
Then restore the backup...
