When I try to restore my iPod Touch 2G, I always get the 1611 error. I've tried reinstalling iTunes multiple times to no avail. Any ideas?

Try using a different USB port or cable, and restarting iTunes (and Apple Mobile Device Service, too?).

Unfortunately, there's little documentation on error 1611, but forum threads suggested it may be a general hardware problem.

restart itunes usually does it for me with that error. Also make sure you're host files are being sent to Cydia or are blank, so void of apple Ip's.

However, usually like I said, the usb port and restarting itunes or the whole computer helps me with that error, whether it's an iphone, ipad, or ipod nano.
