Hacking error #001 unauthorized device has been detected

Hi all,

I've used xzxzero's guide to softmod and everything looks ok but when I try to play use Neogamma to load a disc I get "error #001 unauthorized device has been detected"

I have a Wiikey that hasn't had its firmware updated for over 2yrs and believe this may be causing the problem. And I'm using IOS 249 v14

What I'd like to know is:-

1) Can I disable the Wiikey?

2) If not would updating the wiikey it to firmware 1.9 upset my soft mod in anyway?

3) Would loading games from a USB HDD work around the error #001 as its not loading using the disc drive?
