The difference being that AFAIK the 3DS internal ID reset every time you factory reset the system, so you could fool Nintendo making it think you had two separate systems.
In the case of the switch, the device ID is attached to the NAND and there's nothing you can do to change it. A ban in EMUnand also bans your sysnand
Is there anything preventing us from booting a NAND dump of a different switch via emunand?

I know about the ban, I meant like when you accidentally brick your system
 
Is Mariko supposed to be one of or both of those two hardware revisions that have been rumored? Either way, they ain't getting hacked as easily as the OG Switch. Not unless Nvidia developed a problem with responding to a security flaw that can be initiated by using a fucking paper clip.
Paper clip has nothing to do with the exploit. Exploit is in the Recovery Mode and, as in any phone, to get in the Recovery Mode you must press Power + Vol- + Home. To "press" Home you need to bridge two pins and thats where the paper clip, or many other methods, comes into play.
