So I recently got a new laptop and I'm going to transfer some things over but my question is:

what is and isn't a virus

Here are programs I am unsure of

FCEUX ( nes emulator)

snesX9 ([can you guess?] emulator)

Dolphin (NGB and NW emulator)

Nemu64 (N64 emulator [Though I may switch to P64])

Visual boy advance (gba, gbc and gb emulator)

No$GBA (NDS emulator)

Lunar.ips (ips patcher)

TLP (tile editor)

SM64DSE (sm64 ds level editor)

Please reply if you have answers for even 1

And none of you will know what this is but what about

Gameranger (a server system for old games like crusader)

Just install a good anti virus and you won't have to worry about any Trojans or malware viruses that install from other files.

Why would you be concerned with viruses for a emulator? If anything, is probably the least targeted software on the internet to contain one. Then again anything is possible. If they was working on your computer like normal, then probably not viruses. Just don't fill out surveys and submit emails for any of them, you be safe then. Most sources to get them from now are Github which is safe, other than that, I use https://www.emulator-zone.com/ they rate all the emulators so any newcomer can decide what one is recommended.
