there is a homebrew for learning Kanji called DSLearnJ.

MY plan is playing Zelda : PH for learning Kanji since it has kanji and if you tap on them, the hiragana of it will pop up, i learned english this way and for hiragana of game, using a dictionary.

there is an app for basic Chinese - DS Zhongwen, it's a homebrew app and available for download here at GBATemp.

Most of the other educational stuff that are not in the 'brain age' or 'sudoku' category are available only in Japanese. But that might change in the coming months, with the 'LIfe Coach' series, a math app, and a Spanish language learning app (As per IGN's release calendar).

I heard there is a DS game for little kids to learn simple Japanese. There are a few I heard but i am not sure which one is it. It is a commercial game, not a homebrew. Anyone knows abt it? Thanks

DSLearnJ is more of just a flashcard simulator that I think is more for people who already know Japanese and need help sharpening their skills.

there really aren't any educational games in english out there, it kind of sucks really.
there are english-learning games in japanese ..

might wanna check out this page
http://ds.ign.com/index/games.html?constra...urn_all=is_true

most are in japanese but there are some english ones

as you can see there are upcoming games and language games too including my spanish coach and my french coach (to be released in november)

thnx to all valuable answers.
i installed 0980_Kageyama_Method_Dennou_Hanpuku_Tadashii_Kanji_Kaki, its good that you draw your kanji and stuff.
as i investigated it has hiragana/katakana too for learning.
but i think it has to have some score or something or daily procedure to make you practice more (maybe it has and i didnt figure it out)
