Agreed they're a ripoff and abuse their customers with their trade-in ratio, but they were allowed this by stupid customers letting them screw them that hard for being too lazy to use free newpapers, craigslist, or lose a couple bucks on ebay(if that making it up with ranked up ship charges.) In most cases outside of those 1mo old things and rarities you'll only get like 20% from them of the original value on average. As someone stated you can walk in and get a high end game and get crap in return. SF4 on PS3 is a $60 game but they'll give you $24 for trade-in, then they'll turn around and sell someone else the game for $55 making $31 costing them like 1 cent to print up a sale label. It's wrong, it's stupid, and it's evil, but people keep feeding the beast. If no one would do it, or far less, they'd be forced to pay where they'd only have a $10 margin on a $50-60 game of profit instead of $30+ as they'd be competing with craiglist, ebay, etc.
Currently I'm selling stuff on the list and I'll wait to move them as I don't want to get hosed. SF4 sucked and I got the CE version for PS3, that's how I know the price, but I'm asking $60obo. They'll give me $8 on FF4DS and nothing on a guide, asking $20 for both. I have other stuff, but it's just the comparison I'm showing.
