Hi.

I would like to modify my Octoptah Traveler save file. I'm not interested in any CFW or any other additional stuff like that. I already have an RCM Jig because I most likely will use fusée gelée.

Thank you for your help!

The easiest method is getting home brew running through fusee and hekate. Then, get checkpoint (a save editor) and copy it to your switch folder on your sd card. It can be used for extracting and injecting save files. It can be found here: https://gbatemp.net/index.php?threa...nager-for-3DS-and-Switch.503899/&share_type=t Also, you can search around for a basic tutorial to get running with hekate, but the gist is you need the latest SDFiles.zip found here: https://github.com/tumGER/SDFilesSwitch/releases and a hekate payload which can be found here (it’s the bin file): https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases/tag/v3.2 copy the sd files to the sd card, copy the checkpoint files to the switch folder on your sd card, and use the payload with TegraRCMGui. Put the switch in RCM mode using a jig and holding volume up and power and then inject the payload with TegraRCMGui and it should boot into a menu, then select launch firmware and then custom firmware. Then, launch album and the home brew launcher should load. I’m sorry if there’s already a tutorial on this, but this is my explanation. PM me if you need more specific help.

Thank you for your great post. Do you know if there are any traces of homebrew left when I restart the system?

That’s the thing, there is currently no 100% foolproof way regarding that, you need to run cfw to edit saves, and Nintendo has detailed logging (especially on the newer firmwares). It is unknown whether that is detectable (there is a chance it is) and clearing logs doesn’t work because Nintendo can most likely detect that. The safest thing to do right now is do nothing, because there is always a risk involved.
