EA purchases Bioware

Anyone remember what they did to Westwood (edit: or Origin, for those who remember them) after picking them up? One of the most respected development studios (at the time) was torn to shreds, then folded when it couldn't produce up to EA's standards in terms of commercial success - as a result of the conditions EA set (through cut development cycles etc).

So, I guess this means:
- No more KOTOR with Bioware involvement (LucasArts holds rights to the franchise).
- No Mass Effect PC (was rumored, probably in development. EA doesn't like PC games, unless they're multiplayer-centered or made by Maxis).

This is going to hell in a handbasket.

That's more or less in the hands of Obsidian these days -- most of the original NWN devs are over there, as well as a good chunk of those who were on the development team for BG2.

I don't think it will change much...hopefully EA knows better than to go fucking around with biowares staff
