EA: 360 and PS3 Game Prices COULD Be Cheaper

According to a developer from EA, the prices of video games may actually DROP this year. Apparently, development costs will try to be covered with DLC instead of hiking up the price as was the case previously.


However, according to DeLong, prices of video games may drop in 2010 with more publishers relying on DLC to supplement development costs. This may be a brilliant idea as it certainly would help spur sales with the state of the economy. Its surprising this suggestion is coming from a publisher considering Bobby Kotick’s comments about raising the prices of video games.

that are bad new's i think, bringing out games which lacks of content just to make the purchasers download the missing parts instead isn't pleasant:. so some developers will of course be motivated to make bigger cash out of this by bringing out half-finished games on the one hand and seperate dlc on the other hand, which perhaps is more expensive than the complete package would be

Sounds good. Now that hardware prices are somewhat lower for the big 3, they need to move more software. Being at a reasonable price is a great start.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read this. Dark times ahead of us.

It'll probably end up like Dragon Age with quests given to you, but wait. You have to first get the DLC before you can complete it.

thts kinda a mixed msg here cuz low price is good but as said before, it could result into a worse situation for those gamers who do not buy off DLC (like say if it were to come to africa as many do have ps3)
in australia, i was told new xbox games go for 110 dollars and after 5 months or so drop to 50-60... thts still pretty harsh u know

Not seeing much I like in this article. It's gonna end up screwing over gamers and allowing companies to get even lazier with their work.
