Hacking E3 Flasher Question

Alright, so I'm getting the Limited edition E3 Flasher tomorrow in the mail. My question is, do I have to leave it in the PS3 for the PS3 to stay at a lower firmware? I was think about doing a PS3 downgrading service for the Temp, as well as reopening my 360 flashing thread. (I've learned from my past mistakes, and all 360's and PS3 shall be shipped in the boxes they originated from with the same packing material.) So does anyone know? I'm sure people would love to downgrade their PS3s.

Once you downgrade the ps3 you can take the e3 flasher out.
I have heard each e3 flasher will only downgrade 1 ps3.

That. Is incredibly stupid. I wonder if there's a way to reset it.
