E3 2008: DS Accelerometer / New DS Forthcoming?

The accelerometer doesn't make much sense to me. But thinking about the lack of GBA slot.. most games that use it for something are hardcore stuff and the Nintendo DS has a big casual public. Most casual gamers wouldn't care about the lack of GBA compatibility and would find an under 100USD price-tag very attractive.

I remember hearing some rumors about Nintendo making a new DS for older people with a bigger screen and stuff like that.. aside from the accelerometer thing, this would make perfect sense to me.

If they show another redesign , I'm going to be pissed. I just bought a DS Lite and also I want a damn new handheld with much better hardware because I'm getting angry about the lack of good racing games. (I've played nearly every racing game on ds and they all suck , yes , Race driver sucks too. Physics are crap if you ask me)

It seems liek most people here dont want a redesign... and neither do I. Even though I ont own any GBA games, I have a 3-in-1, so its still useful to me (the GBA slot). Besides, it wouldnt make sense for them to take it out... that would lose the connectivity in Pokemon between D/P/P and the older GBA games, and those Pokemon games are one of the DSs best selling games.

The DS Lite is hardly slimmer than the original DS. No, it's not slim enough. No, you don't need to buy it if you don't want to.

So a shitty port of a mediocre IP won't work anymore? Damn. Then the DS Slim (or whatever) won't happen. lol

And no, the game won't be fucked. They won't stop selling the DS's w/ the Slot-2. It'll just be a smaller version for those that want it. Hell, i have a fat, have had it since launch, it works great, but recently i've wanted to get a Lite because of the screen brightness. Maybe i'll wait for this new one now. Then i can still play GH when i want to stop poking myself in the eye with a stick.

They are going to include a PDA function with some sort of GPS thing (comments about finding resturants, and maps and such)

They are going to keep the current incarnation of the DS for a long time... because of the new GH on tour games, and the simple fact :
