wiikey only reads +RW , and it reads them just fine... i use 5 RW's all the time , as some games just dont need a permanent copy

The Wiikey reads +R and -R discs. In my experience DVD+Rs burned at 2.4x on Nero work the best for me. I get alot of errors using -Rs

i use a sony +rw if i want to test stuff without making a permanent copy. never had any issues at all. works fine with wiikey.

@ lou_weed - I don't know where you got that information but my Wii/WiiKey loves Imation DVD-RW 4X even after multiple erasures and re-writes.

Look at wiikey.cn , and other comparison charts. it could be fixed though by firmware updates.
I checked mine a few months ago , and -RW didnt work.

Just buy a bloody 50-pack of Verbatim -R DVDs (DVD-R) $18!!!! jeeze just to save afew dollars!

Wii ONLY uses DVDs for Wii BACKUPS ... duh
Wii uses EITHER DVDs or Mini-DVDs for GC ... easier to use regular dvds ... if ur a penny pincher , put more than 1 cube game per dvd ... easily fit 3 cube games per DVD-R
