A friend of mine recently tipped me off that it was possible to play DVD's and Backup games without a MOD Chip. Unfortunately, he only heard about it and didn't know much about it which is why I am here.
DVD Playback:
I did some reading and found this thread:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=119938
The thread is dated very old, is this still valid? Is "MPlayer DVD" still the only functional Homebrew App that allows DVD Playback?
Backup Games:
I don't know where the heck to find this and I did some searching. Nothing clearly states "Playing backed up games on your Wii", and if it does I apologize but I am not perfect and I missed it
. This is the email I received from a local person doing the process (I tried to get him to tell me what it's called but he didn't :\)
Can anyone answer the questions I have? Thanks so much!

QUOTE said:Well, once i install the homebrew channel, i only use it ONCE to install some flashing applications, which are only accessible through the homebrew channel...so let's consider the HB channel "the middle man". Once im done with the flashing applications, the HB channel is now useless and not needed anymore.
So, after those flashing apps are installed, u just insert the burned DVD, and you load the discs through a custom disc channel that the flashing apps will install in the process. You know how you usually click on the first channel to play the discs? well, the flashing applications will install another disc channel, so u wont be using that old disc channel anymore. You're now gonna be be using that custom disc channel, so it feels just like loading the discs the regulae way...only difference is that it's another channel![]()
Simple as that.
Ive done many in the past already and always try to keep it safe. So far no clients have complained.
Can anyone answer the questions I have? Thanks so much!
