Hacking DVD Lens Cleaner

I was just wondering if its safe to put in to the wii a dvd lens cleaner? the lens cleaner is branded but in audio format... any ideas?

I would say no - back in the original xbox days, I tried one and it did nothing. They probably void your warranty too.

Lens cleaners are perfectly safe to use and they will NOT void your warranty.

The reason they might not be as effective is because the DVD's sectors are microns smaller than a CD's. So, smaller particles will still interfere with the DVD's reader.

theres a bit of conflict here.. so far the scores 2 to 2...

im using a dvd lens cleaner that has audio in it.. As far as i know, the wii cant play audio dvds.... yet... so i should just stick it in.. wait for a couple of minutes and take it out?

Certain homebrew has the option of enabling spindown of the drive. Without it, the disc will spin indefinitely.

Load up the SNES9x emulator and stick the disc in.


Or, you can repeatedly click on the disc channel, forcing the drive to spin up.
