Hacking DVD-drive on my slim

Hi,

I have a slim console.

The manufacturing date is 2011-10-06 and model is 1439.

Is it possible to know what is my dvd drive with thoses information ?

I'd think you have a Liteon 1175 in your Slim.

You can try and verify it on 360DVD drive database (google it)

Team Xecuter has recently started shipping the unlocked PCB required for these drives, but it'll require doing RGH on your motherboard (Corona) to get the DVDkey.

It's not on operation for the faint of heart, and it's quite difficult even for someone who's good with a soldering iron.

Go for an ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) if you're not a soldering champion.

No idea how The Lord of the Hacks is being done.
But I'm fairly sure it's not really easy.
Or it's as simple as the PMT lol

From this list is a liton 16D5S. This is probably a bad news.

I'm looking for ODE.

I'm not that bad at soledring. I'm an electronic engineer.

If it is possible I'm do not want solder anything on the xbox.

I'm think I will need to wait a little more ?

You'll need to know the FW version of your DVD drive ;p

1175, 1532 etc


You can also always bring it to a shop (buy the ODDE yourself) and ask if they can install it for you.

I think think it's not easy to know the FW version ? Is it supposed to be written somewhere or I have to retrieve it from the dvd it' self (on the sata) ?

It should also be on the database (a slight indication)

Anyway the only way to 100% make sure what FW your drive has is to disassemble your 360 and look at the DVD drive.
It's on the sticker.

It's the only way to make 100% sure of what DVD you have in your 360 ;]
You can try to follow various databases etc but you always might have a last console of the production line which has that particular drive.
Or MS assembly found a leftover drive from an old batch and plonked it in your 360.


Friend of mine has a Zephyr 360 without HDMI (don't ask me how) with a Hitachi drive.
Whilst another Zephyr I had has a Benq drive with HDMI.

Is it possible to use the ODE ?

Yes.

You might need a RGH tho to obtain your CPU Key and FCRT.bin but I'm not entirely sure of it anymore.
But an ODDE is possible yes.

Is your dashboard lower then 14719?
Then you only need a Coolrunner and a Jrunner progammer or NAND-X.

To RGH the 360 it self, use Jrunner (progam) and this guide.
Or bring it to a modshop and ask if they can retrieve the keys and files needed for installing an ODDE.
