Duracell Extender Revealed for PS3

Duracell today revealed a rather nifty looking accessory for the new Playstation 3 slim models. The Duracell Extender is multifunctional as it offers slots for SD cards and memory sticks as well as three additional USB ports. It can also be used to charge two DualShock 3 and Sixaxis controllers. The accessory is attached to the side of the Playstation 3 next to the disc tray, similar to the Sega CD expansion for the Sega Genesis. The size and color matches perfectly with the rest of the system.

Couldn't they make it smaller? I know it's putting a lot in but that seems a bit to big. It's big enough already.

That thing looks almost big enough to be a console in itself, not an add-on.

The thing that probably fattened it up the most were the controller charging slots. Given the other stuff might take up space, but the slots for controllers need to be that big purposefully.

How amusing- I am reminded of the many cheap and cheerful wiimote addons at this stage except this will probably be made with a slight better process and/or plastic.

It needs to be big enough for the Dualshock3 controllers. Its probably as small as it can be right now.

Hmm - I don't own a PS3slim - but don't some people have it on it's edge ??

Maybe they should consider making one that's a bit of a 'upside down 'L' shape unit that 'wraps underneath' the PS3 Slim
