I guess Xmas is over for Acekard too because some people still can't get 999 to work, even with aap enabled

Really? Well, then these people simply need to buy a working Class 2 mSD card. They won't get 4 patches, I promise!
moogle.gif

I know they won't get 4 patch acekard/akaio's not that dedicated

it's same shit, what's the difference, human error is the problem..at least SC is trying to help those who can't get it to work unlike acekard who just makes you wait for the next update

That's right. But TC should better do some research about that before something happens.
Are you even reading?

1 - AKAIO had to develop new DMA modes for this type of issue (IIRC both Green and Yellow, with Red being legacy).
2 - ALL CARTS had this issue with PoR's release.
3 - It's MicroSD-specific, and no company can possibly have access to every single card.

A problem like this is not DSTwo-exclusive, not by a long shot. They don't have the hardware users have, thus having to try multiple times to fix it. Hey, why does that sound familiar? Oh yeah, the "bad batch" issue with acekards!
http://www.akaio.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t...d5c2e51901e734f
http://www.acekard.com/news.php#82
There was a build released that has some minor changes, so the latest firmwares weren't working on them. The AKAIO and Acekard teams didn't have actual physical samples of these carts, so not only did it take a while to even find there WAS a problem, everybody had to sort out the IDs and send some of the "bad" samples to the AKAIO team so the two teams could make a fixed version of the firmware.

tl:dr; Seriously, shut the fuck up already. Even I'm getting pissed off at you, and the only cart I own is an Acekard 2i. What you're doing amounts to nothing but fanboyism and trolling. The Acekard has been subject to this (common) type of problem MORE than the DSTwo.

If I see you posting about this in a mocking tone one more time, I'm just going to report you as a troll (as you're ignoring obvious facts in order to make fun of people).

This one WORKS on a 16gb sandisk SDHC class 2.

FINALLY.

Also, surprisingly enough, this update has a system3.dat from OCTOBER and a new ndspatch.dat from today.

Guess that's what fixes it.

I have (well, had) two 16GB Sandisk Class 2 cards and PoR only works on one of them because the newer one has half the read (and write) speed of the older one. I had to take the new one back because it was so slow. So saying it works on a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 doesn't mean anything because the read and write speed can vary dramatically based on when you got it.

Bought from shoptemp (chinese card) on Oct 18th 2010.

So, do I have a good card or a lemon? Seems to run everything pretty ok but haven't tried POR.

I noticed a few loadtimes in RPGs like bowser's inside story between battles and EXTREMELY brief load times in Contra 4 between bosses.

Here is the main test. Load Portrait of Ruin and as soon as you can, keep pausing and unpausing the game by going to the menu (by pressing start) and then back to the game over and over . If PoR does not crash then that is good, if it crashes very rarely that is marginal. However, if it crashes all the time or even worse crashes without doing anything except just going to the next room (or even just standing there) then that is bad. Running Portrait of Ruin perfectly, even when rapidly pausing and unpausing is the main torture test for a MicroSD card If it can handle that then it should handle anything.

At the grand opening of Mario's third theme park, the first 100 guests
receive a new Mini Pauline toy. Donkey Kong arrives as the 101st guest
and finds himself out of luck. He grabs Pauline and heads into the park
with Mario and his Mini Marios in hot pursuit...

Mario vs. Donkey Kong Miniland Mayhem is an action puzzle game in which
players use the stylus to place objects like girders, springs, conveyer
belts, pipes and ladders to guide the Mini Marios to the end door of
each level.

-enjoy

this has a unit=2 header and is a NDS game with a DSi header but the
game itself has no DSi features. Basically This release is for those
who want the original unpatched dump that works on Aikio 1.8.1 or
DSTWO or those who want to see how the AP was patched by HADOUKEN.
also there is some sprite issues with certain cards on the HADOUKEN pre.

OK, FINALLY got back from vacation and tested POR.

Does. Not. Even. Get. To. The. Title. Screen. Before. It. Crashes.

...ya it sux. oh well.

lets not lose sight of the facts

we are getting games for FREE. if ppl bitch so much just buy the game

supercard and ALL flashcard makers are making a product just so we can play games for free, which is illegal so just making the cards to begin with means their taking a risk. we should consider ourselves lucky we can even buy such cards REGARDLESS of brand, and the makers supporting their product is an added bonus.

these are the very same ppl who will no doubt bitch when they decide that its no longer profitable to produce games and EVERYBODY is left with a useless brick. as happened with the commodore amiga.......
