DsOS is a useful Nintendo DS application.
It features a calculator, screensaver, brightness adjustor, zip file unzipper, and an MP3 player.

Thanks to NintendoMax for the news.

maybe not but this is a very good exercising in coding. he is making apps he wants on his ds, and learning in the process. i like the idea of mp3 playlists dynamic editing, a calculator, LUA support, and the ability to unzip. some of us do use ftp to transfer files (or dcc on c|irc), it is nice to be able to unzip without having to turn off the ds-turn it back on-load a different homebrew-unzip-turn-it back off-turn it back on- just to use that file. be it a rom for an emu, a text file, an mp3 or whatever.

since soft reset isn't supported by many homebrew apps, even with the back to firmware code, its nice to see multitasking applications. i find that 9 times out of 10 the programmers are very nice and receptive to new ideas. so why not e-mail and ask for something to be included?

hell is 7/13/08 blog entry says it all
    "I can't stop coding, I love it."

future plans include a notepad style app, a video player...

i'm sure he would add file renaming once the keyboard for the text editor is completed.

The mp3 playback doesn't work, or at least on supercard sd. If this guy manages to fix that and make the quality better than moonshells then I'll totally switch over to ds os.
