Hacking DSi Speakers in a DS Lite?

I tried googling but I can't find any mention of it. I have to replace my case anyways, and I was wondering if I could buy some replacement DSi speakers and plug them into a DS Lite for improved sound. The main problems I forsee would be any driver or power issues, which could be replaced by a firmware upgrade I suppose.. but then I'd have to write my own firmwares.

Does anyone know if this has been tried before?

They're just speakers... if they fit in the case, they'll work.

The only issue would be if the power supply was much larger in the DS (unlikely) meaning they might break.

You can even get better quality speakers than the DSi ones..
Those are just standard speakers as stated above me. As long as the speakers fits in the housing, I dont see any problem

The better sound quality in the DSi comes from new, better sound hardware, according to interviews a better 'driver' is used. I dont think the actual speakers themselves make any difference.

If you want the best sound quality, get yourself some good headphones or in-ear phones.
