Gaming DSi gets hot when charging

Hey people! I got a concern about my DSi.

I don't know if it is my DSi or Acekard2i but when I have the system charging while I am playing I notice that the system gets warmer than it normal.

Is this an indication of a problem with my Acekard2i or DSi or is this normal?

Generally, flash cards (like the ak2i) only affect battery life, but I've never heard of it affecting the battery or the charging itself. How old is your DSi? Are you using it often? Perhaps it's the battery itself.

I have both DS Lite and DSi XL and I can tell you neither get hot when charged or played for an hour straight or longer.

Most batteries get hot when they are charging, i'm not sure if there's enough juice from the DSi charger to charge the battery while playing though.

Is it a 3rd party battery or a refurbished console?
