Hacking DSi firmware

the dsi has bigger screens than the ds/lite so the dsi menu wont fir the ds/lite screens

The DSi has bigger screens but with the same resolution so the DSi menu has no problem fitting in the DS Lite screen

No, it will never happen, its simply impsossible. For one, theres not enough space on a normal DS and for two, the hardware is way different. The DSi uses a new motherboard that is a bit different than the one in a normal DS and also the DS firmware is only 256 kilobytes while the DSi has 10 megabytes of internal memory for its firmware. It simply can't be done without gutting out the DS and replacing it with DSi hardware which well, kills the point of it since you are left with a DSi.

It's like trying to put a square block into a round hole, not gonna happen. Maybe somebody will create a UI that looks similar but porting the DSi firmware to the DS Lite would be impossible due to hardware restrictions.

I actually thought of this before. I suppose ROMs could be made from the various apps, like the DSi sound, but the SD Slot wouldn't be able to be used used. Who knows?

As we all know, attempting to put the DSi menu on the lite will cause the screen to crack, but vice versa is possible! In the following picture is my DSi running the original menu:
