Doesn´t Super Princess Peach have something like that?

no sarcasm...never played it, i saw it and i thought it was just a gyro or something like wario ware... How did it work, you had to turn on the light to play or what?

and have they dumped it? how would it work without the sensor?

No, but since you fought vampires and Kojima's a crazy bastard, it detected SUNLIGHT to make the game easier when there was a lot of light, and at night, the enemies would be stronger and harder to beat.

Which is why even today this fucking game costs 50 euros. Never played it.

wow imagine.....in final fantasy you'd have to visit certain areas to unlock certain secrets...like deserts and arctic environments...

Or you could just put it in the freezer and the oven.

but I could imagine there it could affect the conditions of battles, eg for (advance Wars) like there are more chance of snowstorm in the winter months and more rain when in the summer

so it's technically possibly for all types of sensos (barometer, ect..) to be utilized in games. Like in Animal Crossing, it could sense the humidity or something and it would rain when it really was raining...any other concepts?

Well maybe it´s technically possible but, will it work? I mean, here´s not really snowy and in some places it´s not that common a rain.

in boktai you couldnt use indoor lighting because it was a UV sensor, so only actual sunlight worked for boktai, also if you were in the sun too long your gun would overheat.

Its the temparture meter right next to the battery... You can't see it, but after leaving y DS in a fridge for about 30 minutes the Temp was still 33.4C

Dude, bad idea. I did that with my cell phone and the LCD is forever messed up. Imagine having an LCD with a 5 ms response time, sticking it in the freezer turns it to 50ms.

And why did you put your cellphone in the fridge in the first place?

When I leave my phone in the car when it's winter ... it gets REALLY REALLY cold ... and the outer screen does sorta screw up, but once it warms up, it goes back to normal.

If you were going to implement a temp type sensor into a game, then i'd say a barometer would work best. Temp is too cheatable, baro's work on air pressure, so unless you want to play your DS in a vacuum bag or 33000ft up in a 747..

But that would be quite awesome if it had to be stormy to unlock areas, or if there was a game like pilotwings for the DS where the air pressure affected the flying conditions..

My white DS is showing 29.6C and my black DS is showing 35.8C. I've been checking them on and off for about half an hour now. The white like to be around 25C and the black around 36C.

What's going on??

there was some talk about sensing the temperature/humidity etc and use that information for games, in game rain, fog, sunshine etc.

wouldn't it be simpler if the DS just had something like the Wii's weather channel, just use the data straight off that.
I remember people thought that Madden 07 utilized the weather channel, it just turned out to be a huge coincidence

maybe they have implimented a secret patch on the ds so that everytime you log on to wi-fi network it sends the temperature data back to nintendo, and thats is there where they have the data for the weather channel.

Black absorbs and radiates heat faster than white. In the sun, black things get hot quickly. Theres also the fact that it isn't an accurate temp reading, and sould be taken with a grain of salt.
