forgive me if this is a double post. i saw a topic like this a looong time ago on this forum but i did a search and results turned up nothing. anyway, i was just wondering what that means when the start up chime is high pitched after turning on your DS Lite? i know it has something to do with the slot 1. if anyone has any info on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, the chime is higher if it's your birthday.

I was wondering why it was doing that before, I thought my DS was screwed up. It was my birthday, so my friend set his DS to that date as his birthday and sure enough it did that too.

that happened to me too lol, i got my ds the day it came out, and it was my birthday 6 days later, then i heard that sound and i paniced i was like wtf is this normal! then i got my friend to come over to check his ds and the sound was different then the next day i realised it >.

Also if you go onto PictoChat on your birthday, it makes a different entering noise and says "Happy Birthday" in different coloured (Rainbow) lettering. Also many games (Not sure about flashcard games) have special events for birthdays (Kirby: Squeak Squad).

Lol that happened to me when I played it on MY birthday.

Of course my borthday is January 1st so at first I thought it was celebrating the new year

Wow never knew that, thanks.

My DS did this to me straight after I replaced its case (can't remember whether it was on my birthday that I did it) and I thought I'd broken the speakers.
