Hacking DS Lite screen is green and fuzzy

My DS Lite's top LCD screen has been green and fuzzy/static-y.

Why? How does it happened? And most importantly, how can I fix it?

It's probably the result of the connection being loose. My phat DS hinge broke, then later the top screen broke. If I were you, I would order a new DS, but if you want to take a risk, try ordering a screen and fixing it yourself.

You should check if the ribbon cable's loose for the top screen, if it's actually ripped instead of loose, go ahead and order a new top screen, and triwing screwdriver if you don't have one, then go through some screen replacement tutorials. Either that or fork over $60 if your DS isn't under warranty...

You can't. You'll need to take it apart, just the bottom shell though.

Though I have a hunch...open up the battery cover (philips head) and right next to SL1 are two holes with 'screw' like things in them, these control voltage to the screens. I'm not sure which one is for the top screen, should be the furthest to the right. Grab a thin philips head screwdriver and turn the 'screw' inside there slowly, your screen might fuzz out like crazy, then turn it in the other direction. It might fix the fuzzing problem, probably won't fix the green.

Then your only other options are ordering a new screen and replacing it, or sending it in to nintendo for repair. BTW i've done that w/ no problems whatsoever, fixed a problem with some vertical lines showing up on my bottom screen.

Yeah I know old post, but I have to say: Thanks a lot! I thought my screen was going bad after opening but it was all my fault. After some turning there are no more lines in my top screen. Still though the L button has it's issues.
