Hacking DS Linker 16Gb Help

Ive had my ds linker for a while but never upgraded the firmware. So I saw the new release on the front page, downloaded it and put it on my card. After that, whenever I run it, it says error: not format!. It says that when I run in usb mode and game mode. Can anyone help? Is my ds linker bricked?

format your card by holding a b l r down while booting up your card.

If it doesn't go into format screen, try hooking up slot2 with PC using usb cable. I thought I was doing something wrong somewhere else before I tried hooking it up.

a warning to people your supposed to do a full format after you update. I dont know why but its in the read me a full format is needed after you update. Im glad i could help Jhongerkong.
