So even ones that originally worked on the old 3ds won't work?

I have an r4i sdhc that I unblocked on my old 3ds by downgrading TWL_FIRM to its 4.0 revision. The only reason I'm not upgrading to a n3ds is because it won't be able to be unblocked.
Misread.

See #591 (and wait a little (?)).

I have a patched TWL_FIRM for N3DS (located all the patches, by looking at the surrounding bytes and things like that). To decrypt and reencrypt arm9bin I used reinand magic. :P
If you people want, I can get it to the ISO site (I also made an O3DS .cia if you don't want to use Rx, I'm going to test it now).
pls put on iso site

can someone give a little info how to do this new things of running old blocked DS flash cart...

because so far..

when i try that new Rxtools (posted a few pages back) it fails to boot into rxmode

First ever DSiWare SRL perhaps?

http://gbatemp.net/threads/twl-slot-1-launcher-first-custom-dsiware-app.414501

Finished working on this. Spent a good hour or two manually hexediting an SRL for this. Stripped out game data and zeroed out RSA sig and inserted custom banner. It's clean from any copyrighted code and ready for relase! Use this to boot older DS flashcarts that would normally not work on the 3DS! :D

Does it need a specific cfw?
Does it work on n3ds?

Any CFW that added the new sig patches to TWL_FIRM (or if you have a prepatched version of TWL_FIRM installed) this will work. So rxTools isn't a specific requirement. Just any method you use for patching TWL_FIRM will allow this to work.

Sorry for being the n00b at the party. But will it be possible to see, launch and play dsiware as cia's on my CFW? I can play dsi cia's now as well. But they don't show up on the home menu. So I have to boot them from some other app...

Even though DSi enhanced games may not boot in DSi mode off of the the flashcard, the flashcard itself is definitely in DSi mode according to this homebrew app I downloaded idk how many years ago.

Edit: oops, put this in the wrong thread. Oh well. Guess it makes since here too.

I know this may be stretching it, although it'd be cool if it was possible. But what if we were able to force DS flashcarts into a DSi flashcart mode. For example, being able to use the camera feature in some games on an R4i.

I'm not sure if that would be possible or not. I'm pretty sure that in order for DSi homebrew to use a specific DSi feature like the camera or SD card, the exploited DSi game would have to use one of those features. If the game doesn't use something like the SD or camera, it will be disabled by software.

Can you run that again but in DS mode from your flashcart booted directly from Home Menu? It would be interesting to find out that it forces DSi mode for any flashcart on slot-1. That would be interesting indeed! :D

I can confirm that it is still in DSi mode even when booted directly from the home menu
