Homebrew Question DS games on Switch

I am having trouble finding this answer anywhere. I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row before I try homebrew.

If I want to run a DS game on the Switch, do I need both the .nds file and .sav file in my roms folder? Or just the .nds?

Just nds. Files. The .sav are the "save file" for the game your playing and depending on which emulator you use, the location for the save file is different

Your .sav should still work if you had them allready from another emulator
