I think the DS scene is better than the GBA one years ago anyways. I can remember loading up a Warioware and I'm greeted with an unskippable intro by the release group with annoying music and a long, "BIG THANKS TO blah blah blah".

Ego and eliteism is the only reason any scene has any releases at all. The desire to be the first, the best, the most '1337' is why they bother to develop the dumping tools in the first place.

I personally mourned the loss of intros, I enjoyed seeing the cool new stuff they had managed to get the current hardware to do, it promoted much better trainers as well.

What happened to scene demos? When did it all become about getting as many games as possible and stop being about showing off your skills?

I was an active 'scener' during the Atari 800, C64, ST, Amiga scenes so I'm oldskool and I think that was the height of the Warez scene.

Now its all about piracy and I think thats a shame.
