It doesn't matter to me if they stop selling R4's. Not only because I already have one, but because my next flashcart will have SDHC support and all of the newer features that current flashcarts have and the R4 does not.
To tell you the truth, I'm considering not even bothering to upgrade the flashcart. I hardly play my DS anymore anyway......no time and very few games worth bothering with. Now if they release a nice 3D space shooter (like a Descent Freespace or Wing Commander type game) and it won't work on my crusty old R4 THEN I might consider a new cart, but until then......meh.
I've been flip-flopping back-and-forth round-and-round on whether to buy another flashcart or not. If I DO buy a new one it will likely be a CycloDS, but it just seems more and more pointless to me as time goes on. There's too much shovelware and too few worthwhile games (what many consider good games, I do not) for the DS as it is now, and the ratio of suck games to good ones is getting wider all the time (IMO).
Combine that with the fact that I should replace my SCminiSD (with its suck-ass slowdown in GBA games) with an M3 Perfect and my determination to upgrade is hampered even further. I mean, not only would I have to hunt down all new utilities and skins for the slot1 card, I'd have to do it for the slot2 card also, plus all the re-patching of the games and whatnot on the slot2. It just seems like too much hassle for something I rarely have any time for these days.
So yeah, they may stop selling R4's.....boo hoo.
