As we approach the July release of Dragon Quest 9 on DS, we are graced with a new 7 minute long (wow) promo video. How they love to tease us. So without further ado, the video here-

LOTS of gameplay footage. Keep your eyes open July 11 for the Japanese version.

I'm seeing that RPGs are having full or nearly full customization of main characters and it's about time. I'm also looking forward to importing the game.

That looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully they'll make a Dragon Warrior Monster game too : p

Dragon Quest Wars should be on DSiware in a week providing if you own a Japanese DSi and it costs 500 Nintendo Points. The game just has the monsters battling SRPG style.

looks amazing.
this title is still slated as a two cartridge release, correct?

I wonder how they are going to pull off the feat of transferring your save information between cartridges (with the DSi, you can swap games without rebooting the system, but I didn't think that it was possible with the original ds or ds lite's).

I'm also rather disappointed that square-enix didn't bother to put together a special DSi bundle for this title like they did for FFCC: echoes of time and KH: 358/2 days.

Been waiting too long for this game, I hope it lives up to its name. I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the Wii sequel?

Sadly, it sounded like some tech demo, where you choose up to four characters from pre-set range and battle out in a small map or three. No real plot or anything. Which pisses me off--I was hoping for Fire Emblem and Dragon Quest, not some flash game or something

As for this, I've loved Dragon Quest since the first game. This is just something unique and I'm loving it. Hopefully there's not horrid grinding like there was in VIII--that was the worst thing I've ever tried to stomach, I couldn't even finish the thing.

No just no no no and no. The title was NEVER a two cartridge game. That was a debunked hoax that someone started to troll people. Unfortunately it became viral, but I thought that everyone knew it was fake by now. That hoax was made back in 2007.

Pics of the hoax that are NOT real-

God I hate that rumor. The game will be on one cartridge. We don't know the size. We've not seen any voice acting, only basic gameplay and some videos. It will probably be 256MB just due to the amazing amount of content, but you never know.

This game looks great way better than the dragon quest remakes that I've played although I suppose that it's supposed to be though but I'm kinda of disappointed that this game isn't on 2 cartridges since the last dragon quest game was great but when I finished I still wanted to keep playing and did I see a orange DSi does that mean that a new color may come out

. Looks like this game will have WIFI unlike a lot of other ds games coming out since barely any good games are using it.

What is it with people and two cartridges? It is more financially and technically feasible to just increase the cartridge data size. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was SE's first 256MB DS game. This game might be that size as well, but we don't know.

Wish they'd make another Slime Quest/Rocket Slime game though

Yeah, I really liked Rocket Slime, wished they would made at least a sequel.

This game looks awesome, but sadly it won't be in English soon.

Wasn't there one or two on the GBA? It could just be that the GBA one was readapted for the DS though :/

Yeah I think so. But I meant on the DS. And the GBA one didn't have a U release it seems.

I want a new english Rocket Slime on DS!
