Downtown London Attacked!

Guys and gals... London has just been attacked by terrorists, and just now it's been confirmed it was Al-Qaeda.

Why? No Idea..but what an unfortunate time for it to happen too. Buses and Undergrounds were attacked, btw. Please note anybody trying to contact anybody in London may have to wait a bit, phone lines are extremely busy.

Aparetly Arab sources that monitor Al Qaeda think it is them.

There have been 6 explosions round London. 5 in tube stations and 1 was a double decker bus.

The BBC is covering this pretty well.

Hell, I love it how fast people jump the Al-Quaeda bandwaggon... there's a G8 summit in this country currently, just about anyone looking for attention could be responsible for these attacks. Of course they couldn't directly attack the place of the summit, so London is the next best aim if you're a terrorist. Most likely it were some militant anti-globalization groups IMO.

You're right, they haven't confirmed for certain who it is yet. They're saying they're not even sure if it is terrorists yet but I think that one's a bit obvious given the number and spread of the explosions. It must've been organised - it can't be a co-incidence that the G8 protests and this Olympic mess are all going on in the same week, increasing up the number of people in the city.

And to those of you who know people in the area, hope they're safe and well
