Are we allowed to PM *.bin files on the website?only 0x18 matched
yeah you can pm anything, just not post. Are we allowed to PM *.bin files on the website?
if it breaks FIRM we are screwed even with a9lh. while with a9lh we are completely safe even if CTRNAND bricks3. This is a tough one, depends on what part of the nand you brick, if you brick TWL for example the system will still boot as normal like nothing happened. If you brick FIRM partitions on the other hand you're pretty much screwed unless you have a backup and a hardmod. <-- all that is relating to sysnand though. If you brick emunand in any way you can just restore a backup and it will boot again.
Good to see GodMode9 has a user base even before an official release@d0k3
It seems that you don't have an official GodMode9 thread, so i'll just ask here.
1) Is it possible to initiate network/wifi access during a9lh bootup?
2) If yes, how feasible is it to integrate an ftp mode into GodMode9, or is it completely out of the scope of the project?
You should not worry about this. The selftest does not load the keys from the files, it is designed to show you what your system is capable of doing whithout any additional files. I guess I will change this later, though. These failed for me:
ncch_7x_key
nand_twl_key
nand_ctrn_key
Keys I have:
Can someone help me?
- slot0x1BkeyX
- Slot0x05KeyY
- slot0x18keyX
- slot0x25KeyX
Key files are not case sensitive. Granted, some other stuff is, but that will be fixed soon. It's case sensitive. The file names should have a lower case "s" in slot and capital "K" in key.
Okay, that is strange. There are some things that I need to change in D9's NAND restore function, but for the most part problems such as these should not happen. So... what is the file size of you NAND backup? If it is using lowercase letters in the name or uppercase letters in the extension, you can also try to change that.Hi! Excuse me, but everytime I try to do a SysNAND restore it says that "No usable file was found!" and I have my NAND.bin file in the root of my microSD Card. I created that backup using EmmuNAND9 (a program of your creation) and I was wondering if you could help me
Thanks!
Good to see GodMode9 has a user base even before an official release. Anyways, FTP is out of question for GodMode9. No one so far has managed to get wifi reliably (or, at all) working on ARM9. If we ever manage to do this, I may think about this, but as of now, this is unlikely.

EDIT: If you can, just post the exact name (with correct cases) and size of your backup. Also, the first 512 byte, if you can upload this (but don't upload the whole thing!).

569mb seems small for a NAND...I'm pretty sure they're at least 1gig but wait for d0ke to answerSo, my exact file name is "NAND.bin" (without the quotes) and the size is 569 MB! I don't know how to upload the first 512 byte :/ I'm sorry about that
But here's a screenshot of the Properties of my file! View attachment 43163 View attachment 43163
I was about to say that I tried changing the extension to "NAND.BIN" all caps and it didn't work569mb seems small for a NAND...I'm pretty sure they're at least 1gig but wait for d0ke to answer
Sorry man, but if this teaches you anything it's ALWAYS make more than 1 NAND backup in case, I was just telling someone this yesterday too. However don't give up yet maybe d0ke can still save you we don't know yetI was about to say that I tried changing the extension to "NAND.BIN" all caps and it didn't work
I might as well be the unluckiest person when it comes to 3DS hacking LOL!

Yo @Shadowtrance i wanted to thank you for that decrypt9ui you posted for meYep that's way too small even for old 3ds.
Well crapSorry man, but if this teaches you anything it's ALWAYS make more than 1 NAND backup in case, I was just telling someone this yesterday too. However don't give up yet maybe d0ke can still save you we don't know yet
Well crapMaybe! Gotta be hopeful haha!
That is a computer program, decrypt9 is perfect for making backups basically never fails just make 2 of them and you'll be sure to be safe. It's sad to hear that mate.
So, it's always advisable to keep two backup right? Maybe we should have another tool to diversify the risk of corruption next time.
I found this one: emuNAND Tool
Link:https://gbatemp.net/threads/emunand-tool-release-and-support-thread.359239/
However I am not sure if it does the same job as Decrypt9WIP. I hope someone may advise a bit on that.![]()

The reason I think Marco had problems is probably because his sd was almost full when backing up his NAND, with decrypt9 it will start the backup and if it runs out of space it will fail...but it will ALMOST look like it completed. It says error or wtv but if your not paying attention it could just look like it completed. And it leaves a partial NAND backup on sd, maybe @d0k3 can add some red writing when it fails? Or maybe delete the partial NAND backup if failure.
The others are right. With that size there is no hope for that NAND backup, and it is almost impossible you got that without an error message. Is your problem that you are on 2.1 now and don't know about a way back up? If it is, check if there's something in Plailects guide for that issue. Also, ask around on #3dshacks over at rizon, maybe someone can help.Maybe that's what happened and I wouldn't be surprised honestly. I was never lucky at all with the 3DS Homebrew/Hacking, it was so much easier with the Wii haha!
Maybe d0k3 can helpI'll keep my hopes up!

before giving up I'd be willing to help if your stuck on 2.1 I'll even take it to pm just message me when you want to attempt it again, no need to do it right now, I know that feeling of getting overwhelmed when things go wrong modding your console.Well thank you all so much for your help! I think I'll just give up for now, I think I might start getting a headache hahaBut seriously, you were a lot of help unlike people at Reddit, so thank you so much!!

If your using o3ds on 2.1 you might just be in luck
With RedNAND (only via E9 atm) only. You'd need to use either CakesFW or AuReiNAND for this and you'd also have to resize the partition yourself. You can use Partition Wizard (on PC) for this. If you do it, let me know how it goes.
Adding to this: you can make it even smaller than 1280MB - even that is not fully used. And if it works I'll code something into E9 / D9 for everyone.
