Good morning,

I fully understand how gateway works ( Iv'e used it no two separate consoles, both 4.5 one was upgraded to 9.2).

I have come across a ice white 3ds xl console, with 9.4.. Ive been searching around, people have been saying downgrading 9.4 works, but there is no solid proof/confirmation from either the public or from GW themselves..

Anyone had any experience from downgrading 9.4s?

Without a NAND backup with a lower firmware and a hardmod, you can't. On 9.4 you can't run the exploit necessary to downgrade.

Not being funny but how can you "fully understand how gateway works" yet ask this question :D.

Gateway does not currently work on that FW, so there would be no way to use it to downgrade. Without the method posted above.

They said it all.

If you have a NAND backup then you can downgrade with a hardmod. Don't try using NAND backups from other systems, though.

in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
