Hardware Dongle adapter + USB loading

Anyone tried to use a dongle adapter in place of their docking station? I bought...

...and it works great for a portable docking setup. However I recently started using SX usb HDD loading and it does not work, the HDD does not appear in the SX file browser. Anyone have a similar product that does work?

Thanks for the heads up. I was already aware of the bricking situation, already willing to take the risk, and already have a 3rd party dongle that hasn't bricked my switch. If in the future I complain about a brick, feel free to dive in with all the self-righteous condemnation you feel necessary.

In the meantime I'll post if I find something that works.
