So i started using a new switch and this time ill do a sysnand backup, now the video i saw took around 12 minutes to do it while im well over 20 and around 56% it says that the backup is 29.8 GB in size, how is that so? i have nothing at all in the internal or sd memory, so am i doing something wrong?

The nand is 29G in size. The backup does a bit for bit copy so even the parts that are zeros are still copied over as a zero. It takes a while. Be patient.

You are correct. In case of emergency this will save you and bring your entire Switch back to this very place where you are happy and content that your Switch 100% works. Future you says thank you for doing this!
Interesting, i have multiple 32 gb sd cards, seeing this is a masive file i guess is better to tuck this one somewere safe, you see i was worried the new switch could have something wrong as it was taking longer as in the video THEN i saw that the sd used was much lower and i supose the backup adapts to the free space you have, i apreciate the help mate, this takes some stress from me
