Its amazing what some people can and cant hear... i wont give it up here (for obvious reasons) but 2 words. Function Generator. Adults *typically* cant hear more than 17 Khz, (thats why there are ring tones that go at this tone, so adults wont hear it!) but in some cases, adults with better hearing can hear high pitched noises. (Dirtie) Babies can hear a bit > 20 khz which most people cant hear..

Interesting..

I guess it depends where people put their chargers at and the condition of the room. Obviously, if your charger is pretty far and hidden (say behind a cabinet) you won't hear anything. If you put the charger beside your bed, you might hear it

I've always been able to pick up such noises much more easily than everyone else for some reason - the TV can be on mute but I can tell it's on from the other side of the house. I'm an adult as well, so there goes that child/high frequencies theory

Those under 25 can hear high freqs much better than those over
That might explain it then, since I'm still under 25. I know people younger than me that don't pick up on stuff like that at all though :/
Well, the hearong thing also depends on how well you hear in the first place. Hearing generally deteriorates with age, but if you start off being able to hear 23KHz as a baby, you'll end up having better hearing when you're 30 than most people have in their teens. Likewise, if you start off with bad hearing, your youth won't help you much.
