I want to upgrade from a flashcard to twilight menu because I could sell my flashcart plus get better sound and faster clock speeds for games but the fact it wasn't auto AP and I had to patch games was annoying because I had trouble with games like Pokemon black. So does it include auto AP yet it doesn't look like it mentions AP. PS this trouble was back in dsimenus days.

No
(and arguably it should be nds-bootstrap's job, as the software actually responsible for virtualizing physical DS games)
How do I check if the patch is compatible with the rom I've never had issues with rom patching but this was an exception........

That completely depends on the efforts of whoever created it - the patch should be bundled with some way to identify the correct base game to apply it to (this information may be part of the documentation, built into the patch itself for some formats, or into the patcher in the case of ds-scene rom tool or certain patches distributed as PC programs)

Hello.:)

I want to upgrade from a flashcard to twilight menu

I would keep the card anyway.
+ automatic AP Patching,as @KleinesSinchen mentioned could maybe no option for the TWiLight/bootstrap software.
+ better cheat support (not all cheats works correctly in TWiLight)
+ 99,99 % of games of all regions works (TWiLight is in "progress" to achieve that)
+ Multiplayer "download" games works (mainly games like Mario Kart DS/Tetris DS,where only ONE game is present and the other has to take the download option).

yeah we all need nds bootstrap
Not true a) why aren't they selling the games on the eShop besides a few dsiware just for presvaration and even then what happened to four swords annviservity (typo autocorrect isn't being helpful when it can) the best way to play four swords and somehow I don't think warioware snapped is being sold on there b) what about Wii u Ds injection when Ds games are being sold on the eShop and what about Wii injection when Wii games are being sold on the eShop AGAIN c) how can Nintendo sell the idea of Ds emulation on the switch to a mass crowd without top to bottom emulation/two screens or making a new ds/Ds classic when that's clearly not their focus d) what about nintendont e) their not making money off of pre-owned sells f) what about flashcarts plus Nintendo's now more focused on the sources of the roms.

Sorry what

I'm not being sarcastic

Nintendo's not going to bring down twilightmenu. I gave lots of good reasons.
I never said they would - they legally probably can't it's only a frontend for nds-bootstrap and afaik nds-bootstrap uses no copyrighted code

Then why mention the threat of taking twilightmenu down.
I just agreed with someone saying that it's important that AP patches aren't in TWiLightMenu++ as natively including them could get it taken down. In it's current state and foreseeable future I also see no reason TWiLightMenu++ would be taken down

Maybe temporarily but there's no reason they can't. The patches don't contain any copyrighted code. It only replaces code. That's why we can link them here. Nintendo has no legal basis to do this.

Someone could try to break the AP even though it's on the carts and bootstrap is native maybe twilightmenu could instead interfere with the roms code and act like the AP chip without directly patching the rom so it'll just be a vanilla rom though that'll require another project but that's also almost impossible since DSi enhancements aren't possible yet but both of those could be possible in the future once the compatibility is good

I mean we're running Ds games completely free on the 3ds right?

Now when I think about it robz should consider that idea cause it's basically spoofing but on a whole another level robz would have to basically spoof for DSi enhancements mainly because of the region lock.

That just sounds like a lot of extra work when you can just patch it.

Yeah but if they're talking about legal troubles doing my solution will evade legal troubles more as tecquincally the spoofing could be used for development purposes for bootleg cartridges that might use a similar AP solution for some reason that's one of the big reasons why emulators exists and are kinda protected as they could be used to help develop stuff.

Not really. There are no legal troubles with distributing AP patches. They contain no copyrighted code. They could add this if they wanted. What you're suggesting is way more work for the same outcome.
