I went to my local GameStop and they only had either GH3 guitars (all used in SHIT condition) or a almost-brand new Rockabnd 2 guitar... so I got the RB2 guitar and the guy assured me it would work in GHWT. Does it? I also payed a couple bucks extra so I'm covered for a year in case anything happens.

    I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
