Does Switch 2 flash Switch 1 game cards?

I know this sounds stupid but I can't play my Switch 1 Breath of the Wild game card on my Switch 1 console because it is prompting my Switch 1 needs a firmware update.

Daft thing is, I have played this game on my console, it came with the game when I bought it and ever since it had been using the jig exploit and has had Atmos/firmwares updated since completing it.

I don't get why the Switch 1 won't play it anymore other than I tried first inserting it into my Switch 2, downloaded it's update on my Switch 2 console (not system update) and it wouldn't play unless I did system update

Deleted game and cart alone won't boot unless I update my Switch 2.

So that's when I figured sod it, I'll play it on my Switch 1 and same thing.

I doubt your Switch 1 and BOTW cart is going to behave differently if the cart has never been inserted into a Switch 2. People get prompted to update firmware all the time. You can get it without the help of a game cart. 20.2.0 got released a few days ago in case you have not seen the news.

Nintendo Switch cartridges are read-only, the console cannot write any data or prompt on them

It's just very odd, my SW1 is a launch model, I've played and completed BoTW on it.

It remains offline unless I updated breeze and I've not touched my SW1 in absolutely ages.

I got a SW2 and been playing ToTK which surprisingly I am actually enjoying this one better than BoTW, mainly I guess because it lacked removed them sodding guardian robots that'd go Terminator on your ass.

I felt like playing BoTW again but was a no go on my SW2 and SW1, so I guess I'll have to look at updating the cfw, think last I remembered it was 15.x

Tom switch, how are your switch code took doing, it's been a very long time since ive touched my switch, just wondering what features you've added if anything for easier pointer search or asm maybe?

If I recall correctly, you can remove the update prompt from happening with Goldleaf. Though I can't recall if the ones it cannot remove are either firmware update or game update.
