Hacking Does flashing ntrboot using a DSi write anything to the inserted SD card?

Hi,

I have a genuine Acekard 2i and I've flashed ntrboot successfully using a DSi. However, the SD card that was inserted at the time has since been formatted (and I'm still waiting for my 3DS to arrive).

My question is does flashing ntrboot using a DS card write any files to the SD card or is it only flashing the ROM of the flashcard itself (i.e. can I put in any formatted SD card and use that when my 3DS arrives)?

No ntrboot firm (for now) even tries to access the flashcard's microsd, in fact you don't even need one inserted!
