Does anyone remember that really old dos game, blockout? i remember playing it when i was like 3 years old and have a sudden urge to play it again. anyone know where i can get the original, safely? if i remember right it looked like this:

There are many variations of this title on many systems and a lot are homebrew too.

already in windowed mode i've just tried 'run in 640 x 480' under compatibility. tried top option which was: EGA 640 x 350, 16 colours

nvm just tried Tandy mode which works thanks though.

now it's still not working, just comes up with a load of random symbols and colours

anyone any ideas?

That would be the resolution of the game, just change it and it should fix it...Try another one, try all if you have to.
 
This game came out for the Atari Lynx and it's a pretty passable version. I would look into a Lynx emulator (on PC, Wii, DS, etc.) and try and find the ROM.
