Do I need to hack my vWii to install my complete collections?

By "Complete Collection" I'm referring to the titles made officially available to the Wii's Virtual Console.

To install unsigned wads (which include backups of original digital games patched to work on different consoles), you need to use a wad manager running on an IOS with signature checks disabled...

...normally that means a common "fully featured" CIOS, or a copy of a regular IOS with those patches (today that's conventionally CIOS 236), or a wad manager that uses AHBPROT to patch them on the fly - it does exist but I don't remember which one it is

And that is enough to install them, and also to run them from the Wii Menu (which doesn't verify already installed titles)

Now, if you want to use the "SD card menu", you will need to trucha patch the Wii Menu IOS too (IOS80 - there is a dedicated homebrew to do so), since copying exported to SD titles back to internal memory counts as installing

So I installed them in batches to test them.

Wii menu gives a message "you cannot use this channel". I suppose that's because my WiiU is pal and my Wii NTSC.

Tried converting them to PAL and even tried making them region free, but then they give black screen.

Also tried using USB Loader GX to launch them, but with the same result.

I've read about using emunand, but should it really be necessary? I mean, they are 100% legit and solid game wads..
