Nope, the way the screens of the 3DS work, you do NOT need glasses to see the 3D effect. However some people might not see the 3D effect anywhere but that's because those people's brain can't process or interpret the illusion of 3D on screens.

Correct, or they have some sort of a problem on their eyes that doesn't allow them to see stereoscopic 3D... A regular eye check would verify if you can see stereoscopic 3D or not

@Mercluke of course you can. the 3DS screen is a "trick of the eyes", having lenses in front of your eyes wouldn't change anything.

Its obvious he did answer his own question but thats acceptable since its encouraged in the original thread for ask gbatemp
