My ISP has blocked access to FileSonic, although I can get to it through IE8, but not Chrome.
But, do sites such as "hidemyass.com", "www.zend2.com" or "mywebtunnel.com" actually work?

Beware that in using proxy sites, you make it easy for your information to be stolen. If at all possible, never put your logins, emails, passwords or credit card details in any site you access via a proxy.

Its to access filesonic to download True Blood from last night.
I'd never put passwords, bank details etc into an untrusted site

Don't expect fast download speeds either.
FileSonic > (Probably) Slow Server > You

For a purpose like this Fetch.io could be a good middleman. It's a bit limited in its free version, but for a file or two it can help speed things up. Basically you would download the file/files to their servers and then you could download said file/files directly from them.

Which ISP blocked Filesonic? Did they block Fileserve too? Can you access them by using an alternative DNS (such as the one provided by OpenDNS) or using a VPN?

I got a message saying that it had been blocked by BT.
But I tried again in IE8 and it let me download the file.

    Very confused.

Next time, I'll screenie the message
